NEW PROJECT! We are happy to announce that VORM and AMVEST invited De Urbanisten to make the landscape design for De Kaai (formerly known as 'de margarinefabriek or Unileverterrein').

Last week, Atelier Overijssel organized the first meeting on the exploration ‘City and Water - Twente 2075’ (‘Verkenning Stad en Water - Twente 2075’). During this meeting, we presented the results of our exploration to possible future scenarios for a climate adaptive Twente in the year 2075, assuming the most extreme climate scenarios will become reality. We took a look at what is necessary to anticipate to possible future floodings, droughts, and extreme periods of heat. In this presentation, we showed our vision on how to design our cities to be prepared for these new extremes.

Last week, De Urbanisten were invited by Vogelbescherming Nederland to talk with their urban bird advisors and by ''International Conference "PISA 2050 to present our design approach with water and how we are creating livable cities for the changing climate of the future.

After concluding the research on Subsidence and Heritage for the municipality of Gouda, De Urbanisten recently led a workshop testing the Toolbox for Subsidence with the city of Dordrecht.
